About Northwood Republican Women
Home » History

Founded in 1972 by 32 politically interested women, Northwood Republican Women (NRW) has grown into a vibrant club with 175 members active in all aspects of the community and politics. Affiliated with the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) and Texas Federation of Republican Women (TFRW), we have been an award winning club since our inception. The NFRW Diamond Level Award of Excellence has been received as has the TFRW John Goodwin Tower Award. Two Star Awards for increasing membership and 2005’s 1st place Caring for America recognizing our support for the “Greet the Troops” project round out some prestigious honors our club has received.

NRW continues to reach our to the local community by participating in activities such as TRAC (Transitional Resources Activities Center) for children aging out of the Texas State foster care system, donating books to elementary school libraries and awarding a Texas college scholarship to a deserving Dallas-area girl.

We support our military by greeting our troops as they arrive or leave from Dallas/Fort Worth Airport, contributing to the new San Antonio hospital Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, clipping food coupons for overseas military families and knitting warm helmet liners for our soldiers serving in Iraq.

However, NRW’s main focus and goal remains the support and election of Republican candidates and the promotion of Republican Party philosophy.

Our motto: “WE DO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!”
